Artist Reception Invite \ Art Notes-Feb ’16 \

i’m grateful to have 2 pieces on view for the first time from my new series Compost at the ‘Artist Choice Exhibition. it’s this Saturday, February 6th from 6-9pm at the b.j. spoke gallery in Huntington, NY. the show will run through February 28th.

fine art portrait ‘Bella’

in this series i am exploring, as well as creating, the narrative within the mother and daughter relationship.  lorraine and bella have been my primary subjects and the following quote has been a north star for this work:

“… human beings are not born once and for all on the day their mothers give birth to them, … life obliges them over and over again to give birth to themselves.” Gabriel Garcia Marquez

what makes this particularly special is that my work will be hanging alongside lorraine’s – fellow artist, friend, muse and subject of this very series.

fine art black and white photography, fine art portrait ‘Roots’

it would be nice to know if i can look forward to seeing you there?
